A New Commitment

Lord, could there be a better time and place
Than this New Year, before Your Throne of Grace,
That as You search this stubborn, wilful heart,
To make a new commitment – a fresh start?

For You have been so faithful through the years,
In times of happiness as well as tears,
Though I have failed my promises to You,
And to Your clear direction not been true.

Forgive me Lord, forgive me once again,
And from this heart remove each ugly stain.
Your precious Blood was shed for all my sin,
To make and keep me holy deep within.

Lord, purify each motive and desire,
Refill me with Your Holy Spirit's fire.
My love, my will, my all, I gladly give
For You, and others, totally to live.

O make me willing, for Your great love's sake,
This new, sincere commitment now to make.
Lord, start a true revival now in me,
To light Your church and this community!
