Another New Year
We've closed the door on this past yearAnd as we open this year's gate.
We pause to bring our thanks and praise
For all God's wonder-working ways.
His gracious love has never waned,
Even when His heart we've pained.
Throughout each valley dark and drear,
His Presence has been always near.
And when our strength was almost gone,
His arm was there to lean upon.
We thank Him for new lessons learned,
And grieve o'er leading we have spurned
He will forgive where we have failed.
We'll trust Him for the future veiled.
Another chance is ours today
To come to Him and close to stay.
A new commitment we make now,
And pray He'll help us keep this vow,
As on His Spirit we depend
He'll keep us faithful to the end.
He who led through joy and sorrow
Will be our Guide for each tomorrow.
