Christmas is for Children

Christmas is for children -
A time of fun and joy,
With lots of happy laughter
For every girl and boy;
And sounds of joyful singing
Of carols bright and gay,
To celebrate the season
Of Jesus Christ's Birthday.

Christmas is for children,
For Jesus was a Child.
He came down from Heaven
As Angels sang and smiled.
He became a human
And ran about and played,
Growing both in strength and grace
And His Father God obeyed.

Christmas is for children
But let us not forget,
Beyond the tinsel and the gifts,
A greater purpose yet.
With gratitude remember
What we celebrate
Is God's Great Gift of Jesus,
To open Heaven's Gate.

Christmas is for children,
Christ said we all should be
Childlike in His Kingdom,
From sin and doubting free.
Help us, Dear Lord Jesus,
The Child of Christmas know,
And every year that passes,
More like You to grow.
