God - In Person

Headlines call to one and all,
"Come on down to the shopping mall;
Someone there you ought to see -
And sit the kids upon his knee -
It's Santa Claus - in person!"
Other ads we sometimes find
Appealing to the enquiring mind;
A famous author you may see,
Or some other celebrity
Is to appear "In Person".

On the very first Christmas Day,
The angels did to shepherds say,
Hurry to Bethlehem,
You will find from heaven come down
Is God's Own Son - in Person!"

No prophet messenger they found,
To spread God's message all around,
But in the form of Mary's Child,
So human, and yet undefiled,
Was our Great God - In Person!

Today, the privilege is ours,
To know God and His mighty powers,
For He will come and dwell within
Every heart He's cleansed from sin -
Our Saviour Christ, IN PERSON!
