God's Christmas Gift Wrap

The precious Gift God gave to men
So very long ago,
Was not wrapped in bright tissue then,
Or garnished with a bow;
But in the form of human flesh,
A helpless Babe revealed
The Father's deep forgivingness,
From earthly eyes concealed.

Encased in Christ's mortality,
Until His final breath,
That wondrous Gift of Life so free
Was unveiled by His Death;
Thus made available to all
By cords of sin entrapped,
Acceptance of His loving call
Brings Life - the Gift Unwrapped!
