If Only I Didn't Care So Much!

If only I didn't care so much when you forget to phone,
It wouldn't make me feel so sad when I am here alone.
When I hurry down to get the mail and find no letter there
I wouldn't be disappointed - if only I didn't care!

Down through the years our family in size and number grew;
I tried so hard to keep in touch with every one of you.
Your special days I did my best to faithfully recall,
Although I know sometimes I failed to remember them all.

If you could ever take the time to stop and realize
That just a little effort would bring a sparkle to my eyes,
For there is nothing worse than feeling someone does not care
For I have many burdens that sometimes I need to share.

But also I have deep concerns about your problems too
And worry more because I do not know just how things are with you.
All I can do is lift you up to God our Father in prayer
And ask Him to watch over you - because I truly care!

I want to tell you, dear one, how good God is to me
And He will be your Helper too, if you will let Him be.
He may feel rejected too as He looks from Heaven above
Because, I know how much He cares and wants to know your love.
