Love in Action

Love verbalized - God's Holy Word,
Love demonstrated - Christ Our Lord.
God did not merely say, "I Love",
But sent His Son from Heaven above
To dwell with men and even die
To bridge the gap 'twixt God and I;
His love is not a passive thing -
True love must ALWAYS action bring.

Therefore, it's not enough to say
"You know, Lord I love You today".
For His command is loud and clear
To all to whom His cause is dear;
"If you love Me, then feed my sheep,
And from all harm the young lambs keep".
His Great Commission, "Go and tell",
Was meant for me, I know full well.

Forgive me, Lord, where I have turned
Aside from duty, or have spurned
A chance to speak to one in need,
And failed a hungry soul to feed.
You bless my soul abundantly;
Lord, help me live so gratefully
No opportunity will I shirk
To really put my love to work!
