Love's Flower

Love is a tender blossom
So delicate and fair,
Requiring gentle treatment
And everlasting care.
It must be daily nurtured,
And often watered too
By acts and words of kindness
To keep it fresh and new.

For if it is neglected
Its loveliness will fade;
It needs the warmth of sunshine,
Not darkness of the shade.
If it is blown and shaken
By attitudes unkind,
Someday you may awaken,
No flower there to find.

Now if your love starts fading,
And leaves begin to drop.
Don't wait for a miracle
Hoping it will stop,
Initiate some action,
Why just wait for rain?
Provide it with the climate
To bring new life again.

So treat your love as precious,
A gift from God's own hand,
To nourish, guard and treasure,
And try to understand
That only if it's cared for,
This frail bloom will survive.
Ask God to guide and help you
To keep your love alive.
