Washed with Love

The burden was heavy, my heart felt like stone,
Deep hurts down inside me I carried alone.
But hugging them to me could bring no release,
For grieving and tears can not provide peace.

So I took that burden to my God in prayer,
And made a commitment to give it Him there.
My strength insufficient, so great was my need,
"In Your Love and Mercy, Lord help me", I plead.

His Love, like a river, rolled into my soul,
It reached to the corners and flooded the whole.
Coming in like a tide it washed out the debris,
And all I could feel was Love filling me.

Now Love is replacing the hurt that was there.
I want to help others and show them I care.
For many are hurting because they don't know
They could have peace and joy
If they let God's Love flow!
