What Did You Get For Christmas?

What did you get for Christmas?
Did you have a wish come true?
Was there some exciting present
That a loved one gave to you?

What did you give for Christmas?
Did you watch some happy eyes
As hands with great excitement
Opened up a real surprise?

Perhaps you were sad this Christmas
Because you did not receive;
Or wished you had the power to give,
Another's pain to relieve.

Did you get JOY this Christmas?
And Jesus' wonderful grace?
Did you find Hope and Courage
Each future day to face?

The frantic preparations
And gift-giving are done.
Did you receive the Saviour,
God's Gift of His own Dear Son?

If you met Christ this Christmas
And answered His loving call,
Then you received the Greatest Gift
And had the Best Christmas of all!
